It's Thanksgiving for those of us in the US today, and I'm thankful for so much–especially the testers who will be speaking at the next Automation Guild Online Conference and Community. So in the spirit of the holiday (and the upcoming New Year), here is a list of 43 automation and performance engineers you should follow in 2018.

It is not an exhaustive list, and I apologize if I've missed someone (if I did, please let me know!).

Gil Tayar @giltayar

Gil is an Evangelist and Senior Architect at Applitools. With over 30 years of experience, He has religiously tested all his software, from the early days as a junior software developer to the current days at Applitools, where he develops tests for software that tests software, which is almost one meta layer too many for him. Amber Race @ambertests

Amber Race is a Senior SDET at Big Fish Games. She has over 15 years of testing experience at Big Fish and Microsoft, doing everything from manual application testing to tools development to writing automation frameworks for web services. Amber has worked on a wide variety of products and writing automation in C#, C++, Python, and Java. She currently specializes in test automation and performance testing for high volume back-end services supporting iOS and Android games. Jeff ‘Cheezy' Morgan @chzy

Jeff  AKA Cheezy has authored the very influential book, Cucumber & Cheese, and several popular Ruby gems used by many software testers. He was one of the Guild's  most-requested speakers. Check out his session at the 2018 Automation Guild online conference and community.

Titus Fortner @titusfortner

Titus Fortner is a core contributor to Selenium project and the maintainer of the Ruby bindings. He spends a significant amount of time writing open source testing software built on top of Selenium. He is the project lead for Watir and WatirProject, and is active in supporting these projects on Stack Overflow, message boards and in the Selenium Slack & IRC. Titus has implemented automated tests at five different companies and currently works at Sauce Labs as a Solution Architect, working with the community to facilitate testing best practices.

Jane Mareth @janemarette

Jane is an Azure Support Engineer at Microsoft. She graduated from Penn State University with a BS in Materials Science and Engineering. In her spare time, she runs a website called www.bustacode.com dedicated to people like her, those who come from non-CS backgrounds but would like to learn how to code. I'm really excited about Jane's Automation Guild session on Getting Started with WebAppDriver.

Richard Bradshaw @FriendlyTester

Richard Bradshaw is an experienced tester, consultant and generally a friendly guy. He shares his passion for testing through consulting, training and public speaking on topics related to testing. He's a fan of automation that supports testing. With over 10 years' testing experience, he has a lot of insights into the world of testing and software development. Richard is a very active member of the testing community and is currently the FriendlyBoss at the Ministry of Testing. Richard blogs at https://thefriendlytester.co.uk and. Angie Jones @techgirl1908 

Angie Jones is a Sr. Automation Engineer at Twitter who has developed automation strategies and frameworks for countless software products. As a Master Inventor, she is known for her innovative and out-of-the-box thinking style which has resulted in 25 patented inventions in the US and China. Angie shares her wealth of knowledge by speaking and teaching at software conferences all over the world and leading tech workshops for young girls through TechGirlz and Black Girls Code. Angie was one of the Automation Guild founding speakers and will be joining us at the 2018 conference as a roundtable expert.

Shashikant Jagtap @Shashikant86

Shashikant is passionate about DevOps practices for mobile apps especially iOS. He works on implementing DevOps, BDD CI/CD, Release Automation for  platforms. Shashikant's tech toolbox include Swift, XCTest, XCUITest, Xcode Server, Fastlane, Ansible and experienced in setting up self-hosted or cloud-based CI for iOS apps. He is the author of XCFit open-source Tools which supports BDD in Swift for iOS apps. He is tech blogger @XCblog and writes about iOS Development, Testing, and DevOps.

Manoj Kumar @manoj9788

Manoj Kumar is a Selenium committer and a Principal Test Automation Consultant. He has over 7 years of experience using Selenium and has architected many automated testing solutions using tools in the Selenium ecosystem for both web and mobile apps. He is an open-source enthusiast and has contributed to different libraries such as Selenium, ngWebDriver, Serenity, and Protractor. He is also the author of a Selenium blog AssertSelenium.

Rebecca Clinard rebeccaclinard

Performance Engineering Architect: I have been active in the web application performance industry for 17+ years. Over the years, I've used a variety of performance/load and monitoring tools. Created performance test harnesses while honing/defining performance engineering methodologies. I also enjoy taking very technical information and evangelizing the content into easy to understand analogies. I've published a variety of syndicated blogs while making a name for myself in this niche industry. All my content is derived from hands-on experience. Held several performance engineer positions for industries spanning many verticals such as retail, financial services, insurance, gaming, and supply management. Mark Winteringham @2bittester

Mark is a tester, coach, teacher and international speaker, presenting workshops and talks on technical testing techniques. He has worked on award-winning projects across a wide variety of technology sectors working with various Web, mobile and desktop technologies and is an expert in technical testing, test automation and a passionate advocate of risk-based automation and automation in testing practices which he blogs about at mwtestconsultancy.co.uk. Mark is also the co-founder of the Software Testing Clinic in London, a regular workshop for new and junior testers to receive free mentoring and lessons in software testing. Paola Rossaro @prossaro

Paola is Co-Founder and CTO at Nouvola. She also loves seeing data and distributed systems in action, working flawlessly. Her career has spanned leadership roles at Teachscape and Wind River where she was responsible for the teams ensuring distributed enterprise application testing and monitoring (ie: making sure everything works flawlessly). She loved it so much her PhD in Computer Engineering didn’t seem to take it far enough, so she continued post-doc work at UC Berkeley in real-time network performance.

Eran Kinsbruner @ek121268 

A director and mobile tech evangelist at Perfecto, Eran Kinsbruner has a wealth of hands-on, mobile testing experience under his belt, both from a functional testing and non-functional perspective.

Lisa Crispin @lisacrispin

T.J Maher @tjmaher1 

T.J. Maher, a QA Engineer in Boston, has been trying to survive all the changes happening to the software testing industry. He writes about his experiences on his blog, Adventures in Automation, tackling problems he faces as he tackles automation development for the first time. T.J. is a contributor to the online magazine TechBeacon.com. He is also the organizer of the must-attend meetup in the Boston areas Ministry of Testing meetup.


Ash Coleman @AshColeman30

Ash Coleman is a Quality Assurance Analyst at Huge with over 4 years of digital experience. Since joining Huge she has been at the focal point of transitioning toward Behavior Driven Development methodologies. Her past experience as a professional chef has helped her establish a determination to understand and comply with user satisfaction as well as build her career in using technology as a means to satisfy user demands. Her continual desire to mediate between business and digital fronts has been well served by the culmination of her experiences.

Satyajit Malugu @malugu

Satyajit is a Senior SDET focussing on mobile testing at GoDaddy, Kirkland, Washington, USA. His work involves automation of native and hybrid apps and providing test perspective to his team that recently converted from waterfall to an agile process. Before Godaddy, he worked at Urbanspoon and gained SDET knowledge at Microsoft. As a testing thought leader in a company that is deploying a suite of native apps, he is involved with strategizing, executing and mentoring other teams on best practices for native mobile testing. He presented on testing topics at various conferences. Currently, he is working on executing a complete CI/CD pipeline, with automated weekly releases for iOS and Android Native applications.

Bria Grangard @Bria_Grangard

Bria Grangard is a subject matter expert in the software testing field. She manages SmartBear Software’s testing products which include award-winning automated testing and tool, TestComplete as well as QAComplete for test management. A popular speaker on topics such as how to accelerate your testing pipeline through parallel testing, and best practices for managing test cases, Bria loves to speak to testers in all industries with all software development styles, educating them on ways they can speed up their release cycle without compromising the quality of their applications. She has earned three degrees from Dartmouth College, including two bachelor degrees in engineering and a master’s degree in engineering management.

Paul Grizzaffi @pgrizzaffi

Paul is an automation program architect who has created automation platforms and tool frameworks based on proprietary, open source and vendor-supplied toolchains in diverse product environments ranging from telecom to stock trading, e-commerce, and healthcare. He is an accomplished speaker at both local and national meetings and conferences and serves as an advisor to software test professionals and STPCon. Paul will also be joining us at the 2018 conference as a roundtable expert!

Meaghan Lewis @iammeaghanlewis

Meaghan Lewis is a passionate quality engineer who loves all things testing. She is skilled in automation for both web and mobile applications and an advocate for embedding quality throughout software delivery practices. Meaghan has worked at a bunch of cool startup in Silicon Valley and currently works at GitHub in San Francisco. She works continually to evolve her craft. Meaghan will also be joining us at the 2018 conference as a roundtable expert!

Toyer Mamoojee @tottiLFC 

Toyer Mamoojee is a ‘die-hard' passionate Agile Automation Test Analyst with almost 15 years testing experience across many industries.

From Waterfall to Agile approaches, Commercial to Open Source Automation tools and Manual to Automation Testing he has been through the wars of Software Delivery. He is the co-founder of Cape Town Automation User group and co-organizer of Cape Town Testing Meetup back in his home country of South Africa.


Corina Pip @imalittletester 

Corina is a senior test automation consultant, with focus on testing by means of Java, Selenium, TestNG, Spring, Maven, and other cool frameworks and tools. Her previous endeavors include working on navigation devices and in the online gaming industry. She loves automation and always tries to learn something new, improving her automation skills and spreading the knowledge to her peers. Apart from work, Corina is a testing blogger, an amateur photographer, and a GitHub contributor.

Mark Fink @markfink

Mark Fink is a software engineer, test automation expert, and blogger. His mission is to evangelize test automation methods, approaches, and tools.

During the day he runs an independent consultancy providing software-testing services. After dark, he engages in open-source software, and enthusiastically in GoLang. He considers himself to be extremely fortunate because my day simply entails doing what he loves. GoGrinder is his latest open-source project, a Performance Test Tool designed to help test engineers pinpoint problems of their application under stress. It simulates concurrent user activity and monitors system resources and performance behavior.

Paul Grossman @DarkArtsWizard

Paul Grossman has been delivering hybrid Test Automation framework solutions for nearly two decades in ALM, BPT and TAO. He has beta-tested many releases of HP QTP / UFT and in 2009 was a runner-up in HP’s Test Automation White Paper competition. He is a five-time HP Discover/Mercury World Conference Speaker and has spoken at Maryland’s QAAM and Chicago’s QAI QUEST and CQAA, always with a live demo. He freely shares his real-world technical experience. His framework designs focus on speed, accuracy, and scalability. Paul is currently investigating LeanFT/UFT Pro along with Gallop's QuickLean for UFT to LeanFT script conversion.


Michelle XIE LinkedIn

Michelle is an automation developer with over ten years work experience. She started her career working as a Java web application developer and software engineer after graduating from university. And after that, she discovered her passion — automation testing & DevOps. She’s worked with automated installation, automated testing (API, UI , layout, etc), automated code release/delivery pipeline and QA tools development. Michelle is on of our more active members in the Automation Guild slack channel and will be speaking at the 2018 conference as well.

Michelle also loves to provide support and share her automation test story in different technical communities.

Todd DeCapua @AppPerfEng

Todd is a seasoned software professional with 20+ years of experience in IT applications development, IT operations, technology integrations, channels operations and business development in several domains including Mobile, Agile, DevOps, Cloud, Security, and Performance. Over the years he has transformed three organizations to Agile / DevOps, consulted with 100+ organizations worldwide, and brings a variety perspectives and shares practical experiences. Jason Arbon @jarbon

Jason Arbon is the CEO of Appdiff, which is redefining how enterprises develop, test, and ship mobile apps with zero code and zero setup required. He was formerly the director of engineering and product at Applause.com/uTest.com, where he led product strategy to deliver crowdsourced testing via more than 250,000 community members and created the app store data analytics service. Jason previously held engineering leadership roles at Google and Microsoft and coauthored How Google Tests Software and App Quality: Secrets for Agile App Teams. Jason will be talking about Reliable mobile automation with AI at the AG2018 conference.

Andrew Krug @lazycoderio

Andrew Krug found his calling early on in his career — test automation. He got his start at Ceridian HCM where he was a Quality Test Engineer working on a variety of projects; anywhere from large-scale intranet upgrades to new feature development for Business Intelligence and Health Care initiatives. Since then he has held more positions in test automation. During his journey, he has built test automation infrastructures at scale for both desktop browsers and mobile devices. Andrew is now currently consulting about automation, software development practices and utilizing the cloud to improve businesses at Lazy Coder.

Ali Khalid alikhalid

Ali has been in the industry for about 10 years with a wealth of experience in diversified products. He has worked on and delivered multiple automation frameworks for Embedded, SaaS and ERP products.  Over the years has conducted training in automation framework design and invited as a guest speaker and a moderator to meet-ups on occasions as well. He is passionate about finding new techniques to design successful automation frameworks and help out companies in their automation ambitions.

Rosalind Radcliffe is an IBM Distinguished Engineer.  She is currently the chief architect for DevOps for Enterprise Systems.  In her current role, she is responsible for driving the product direction for the capabilities in development and operations.  This includes working with UrbanCode Deploy, Rational Team Concert, the Monitoring products, and the z/OS development tools to provide DevOps capabilities in support of in support of customers transformations. Melissa Tondi has spent most of her career working within testing teams- concentrating on functional, performance, security, and mobile testing techniques. In her current roles, she is the founder of Denver Mobile and Quality (DMAQ) and, as Head of SQE at ShopatHome.com, she is assisting teams to continuously improve the design, build, test, and delivery of quality software.
