Owner Test Guild LLC

In plain english

We are independent. No vendor can buy a good review, sponsored content is always labeled, and everything we publish comes from people who have actually shipped tests.

Who we are

TestGuild is published by Test Guild LLC and has covered software testing and automation since 2010. It is an independent media brand β€” not an agency, not a vendor, and not owned by a tooling company.

Who writes and reviews

Articles, podcast episodes and courses are produced or reviewed by practitioners with hands-on delivery experience. Founder Joe Colantonio has worked in software testing since 1996, including a long stretch as a test automation architect at a Fortune 100 company.

  • Every guide names its author and their relevant credentials.
  • Guest contributors and podcast guests are introduced with their real role and employer.
  • We do not publish anonymous or ghost-written vendor copy as editorial.

How we choose what to cover

Topics are chosen based on what practitioners are actually being asked to do at work β€” not on what a vendor wants promoted. Tool coverage is driven by real adoption and by questions raised in the community.

TestGuild is funded partly by sponsorship. Sponsored placements are always clearly labeled so you can weigh them accordingly. A typical disclosure reads:

Standing disclosure format
Disclosure: [Company] is a TestGuild sponsor. All opinions are my own.

Sponsorship buys reach and clearly-marked placement. It does not buy a recommendation, a score, or editorial control over what we say about a product.

Product reviews and comparisons

  • No tool receives a favourable review in exchange for payment.
  • Comparison tables state the basis for each rating.
  • Where we have a commercial relationship with a listed tool, we say so on that page.

Sources and citations

Claims that rest on external data link to the primary source β€” official documentation, a release note, or our own annual survey data. Where a figure comes from TestGuild’s own audience, we label it as such.

Corrections

If we get something wrong, we correct it on the page and note what changed. To report an error, use the contact form.
