Are you about to go on an interview for a QTP/UFT automation engineer position? Or are you planning to take an HP QTP certification exam and need a study guide that informs and entertains you at the same time? If so, Tarun's UFT/QTP interview Unplugged book might just what you need.

Overview of UFT/QTP Interview Unplugged

The first thing you'll notice is that UFT/QTP Interview Unplugged is a technical book written in a novel format. It's a unique approach that made me feel as though I was the one being interviewed while reading it.

The book follows the main character, Nurat, through all the stages of a landing a new job — from applying, initial telephone interview, technical telephone call, personal interview, face-to-face interview, HR and post interviews — during which many concepts of UFT/QTP are revealed in the characters' dialogue.

While Tarun is no Stephen King, he is one of the top QTP/UFT experts in the testing field today and has put together a compelling story that will keep you interested, entertained and help you learn at the same time.

I must say — some of the interview questions are intense, and actually had me saying out loud, “I never knew that!” Sadly, I don't think I would have made it through the first face-to-face interview, and that's one of the things that is so great about this book. You can practice for certain questions before an interview so there'll hopefully be no surprises in your real-life interview(s). If you know and understand all the answers to the interview question in this book, you should be able to nail any real QTP/UFT interview question that might come your way. Some examples are:

  • How does CreateObject work internally?
  • How does one know which methods are supported by a COM object?
  • What's the difference between run-time and compile-time polymorphism?
  • How does one simulate a keyboard typing on a webedit?
  • What would you do if I gave you an elephant?

The book covers both basic and advanced topics, making it appropriate for new UFT engineers as well as gray beards like myself.

UFT/QTP Interview Unplugged – And I thought I know UFT! would make a fine (and unique) addition to your technical library. I recommend you check it out for a fun, QTP/UFT tour-de-force learning experience. I can almost guarantee that by the end of the book you too will be saying, “And I thought I knew QTP/UFT!”
